India vs Australia: Mohammed Shami and I Must Take More Responsibility in ODIs, Says Umesh Yadav

The 29-year-old is a much improved Test bowler than what he was a season ago but along with Mohammad Shami, he has fallen behind in the limited overs pecking order with Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuneshwar Kumar being the first choice pacers in the ongoing series against Australia.

India speedster Umesh Yadav on Saturday admitted that being a senior bowler he needs to perform better in the death overs if he has to consistently feature in the playing XI in the limited overs cricket.
The 29-year-old is a much improved Test bowler than what he was a season ago but along with Mohammed Shami, he has fallen behind in the limited overs pecking order with Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar being the first choice pacers in the ongoing series against Australia.

It is a home game for the Nagpur-born player and he would be hope to get a game despite leaking 71 runs in 10 overs in his first game of the series in Bengaluru.

Cristiano Ronaldo threatens to quit Real Madrid unless they accept one huge demand.

Ronaldo was in court this summer over claims he owed the Spanish court money in taxes.
And Don Balon claim Ronaldo has made a demand to Florentino Perez and will quit the club if they don’t pay the fine.
Ronaldo may be asked to pay as much as £13m - but wants the club to stump up for it.
Ronaldo’s future was called into question this summer when reports from Portugal claimed he wanted to leave and to move away from Spain.
Ronaldo also told the court this summer that he wanted to return to England
But he then opted to stay put and helped Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night with a Champions League double.
He is yet to score in La Liga this term after picking up a five-game ban in the Spanish Super Cup for pushing the referee after being sent off.
And the 32-year-old has played just twice in the league so far with Real already seven points behind Real Madrid.
But he has four Champions League goals in two games and will come up against Tottenham next

Ronaldo was linked with a return to Manchester United and a move to PSG in the summer.
But PSG spent big on Neymar and have committed to buying Kylian Mbappe next year.
Manchester United are looking at Antoine Griezmann again for next season and would rather sign Ronaldo’s team-mate Gareth Bale due to his age.
Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho are also though to have a rocky relationship following their spell together in Madrid, so his options could be limited if he did leave Madrid.

Bayern Munich fire coach Ancelotti after heavy European defeat

After a humiliating defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Bayern Munich have sacked their Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, the club confirmed on Thursday.
"Following an internal analysis in Munich on Thursday 28 September 2017… the club is to part company with head coach Carlo Ancelotti with immediate effect," Bayern said in a statement on their website.
Former player Willy Sagnol, the ex-France international who had been serving as an assistant to Ancelotti, has been named interim coach.
Pressure had already been building on Ancelotti with Bayern enduring an inconsistent start to the season before losing 3-0 to PSG in the French capital on Wednesday.
After that game the Italian was questioned by German media about his tactics and team selection, following his decision to leave Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mats Hummels on the bench at kick-off.
"The performance of our team since the start of the season did not meet the expectations we put to them," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
"The game in Paris clearly showed that we had to draw consequences. Sporting director) Hasan Salihamidzic and I had an open and serious discussion with Carlo today and informed him of our decision.
"Carlo is my friend and will remain so, but we had to make a professional decision in the interests of FC Bayern. I now expect the team to have a positive development and top performance, so we can reach our goals for this season."
Bayern are currently third in the Bundesliga table after six games, three points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, before visiting Hertha Berlin on Sunday.
They have not been so far off the pace at the top of the Bundesliga so early in a season since 2010/11, when Dortmund went on to win the title and Bayern finished third.
Ancelotti, 58, led Bayern to a fifth consecutive Bundesliga title last season in his first campaign in charge after succeeding Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
However, the Bavarians lost to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and to Dortmund in the semi-finals of the German Cup.
Ancelotti has also coached Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid.
Among the potential replacements being mentioned is Thomas Tuchel, currently a free agent after leaving Dortmund at the end of last season.

School librarian rejects books donated by Melania Trump

An elementary school librarian in Massachusetts has said she will reject a collection of books from First Lady Melania  Trump.
Earlier this month, Ms Trump sent out collections of 10 Dr Seuss books to one school in each state to celebrate “National Read a Book Day”.
The White House said it worked “with the Department of Education to identify schools with programs that have achieved high standards of excellence.”
“I work in a district that has plenty of resources, which contributes directly to ‘excellence,’” she wrote. “My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science.”
Instead, Ms Soeiro wrote, the White House should focus more on providing support to schools that are underfunded.
“Why not go out of your way to gift books to underfunded and underprivileged communities that continue to be marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos?” she said.
Cambridge, where Ms Soeiro’s school is located, sits just outside of Boston and is home to two prestigious and world-renowned universities, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
According to CBS Boston, Cambridge Public Schools said in a statement that Ms Soeiro “was not authorised to accept or reject donated books on behalf of the school or school district” and counseled her on a policy against using public resources for political purposes

Tsunami carried a million sea creatures from Japan to US west coast

The deadly tsunami that struck north-east Japan in 2011 has carried almost 300 species of sea life thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean to the west coast of the United States.
In what experts are calling the longest maritime migration ever recorded, an estimated one million creatures – including crustaceans, sea slugs and sea worms – made the 4,800-mile (7,725km) journey on a flotilla of tsunami debris.
This has turned out to be one of the biggest unplanned natural experiments in marine biology – perhaps in history,” said John Chapman, an expert at Oregon State University who co-authored a study of the creatures published this week in the journal Science.
The towering tsunami, triggered by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake on the afternoon of 11 March 2011, generated five million tonnes of debris from the three prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima.
About 70% sank quickly to the ocean floor, according to experts, but countless buoys, docks, boats and other items with buoyancy were swept out to sea.
Between June 2012 and February this year 289 Japanese species attached to 600 pieces of debris washed up on beaches in the states of Washington, Oregon, California, British Columbia, Alaska and Hawaii, according to the study.
Some of the creatures – about two-thirds of which had never been seen on the US west coast – reproduced as they drifted eastward.
“The diversity was somewhat jaw-dropping,” said James Carlton, a marine sciences professor at Williams College, in Williamstown, Massachusetts. “Molluscs, sea anemones, corals, crabs, just a wide variety of species, really a cross-section of Japanese fauna.”
Although the rate of new arrivals has slowed, researchers were still discovering colonised tsunami wreckage on west coast beaches when their study ended earlier this year.

Only last year – five years after the disaster – a Japanese boat arrived in Oregon with 20 fish native to the western Pacific inside. Some of the fish can be viewed at an aquarium in the state, Carlton said.
The tsunami flotilla is a reminder of the threat that millions of tonnes of plastic pose to the global marine environment.
Most of the creatures found in the US were attached to buoys, boats, crate and other items made from plastic, fibreglass and other materials that do not decompose.
“I didn’t think that most of these coastal organisms could survive at sea for long periods of time,” said Greg Ruiz, a marine biologist at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, who co-authored the study.
“But in many ways they just haven’t had much opportunity in the past. Now, plastic can combine with tsunami and storm events to create that opportunity on a large scale
Experts say it will be several years before they can say if any of the creatures have colonised on the west coast, which might pose a threat to native marine life.
The creatures are not the only products of the tsunami to have generated interest on the other side of the Pacific. In April 2012 a couple in Alaska found a football belonging to Misaki Murakami, a Japanese teenager who had lost his home in the disaster.
One month later a Harley-Davidson motorcycle lost in the disaster washed up on a Canadian beach 4,000 miles away

North Korea-US war now areal possibility &warns influential Rusi think tank

There is a growing risk action could be taken by Donald Trump to 'resolve' the issue 'sooner rather than later'

A war between North Korea and the US is now a “real possibility”, and would likely result in thousands of people being killed or injured, a respected defence think tank has warned.
War between the two countries would likely involve a full scale invasion of North Korea, and combat would be neither “surgical nor short”, the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) said in a report.
In the event of an attack by either country, the UK would only have a few hours “at most” to decide how to respond, it adds
The disturbing analysis, written by Rusi director general Malcolm Chalmers, says a war could be triggered by either Washington or Pyongyang, but it warns there is a growing risk action could be taken by Donald Trump to “resolve” the issue “sooner rather than later”.
“War is now a real possibility,” the report states. “With North Korea making rapid progress in its missile and nuclear programmes, time is not on diplomacy's side.”
The warning comes after North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho claimed the US President's threat that Kim Jong-un’s regime “won't be around much longer” amounted to a declaration of war and said Pyongyang had the right to take countermeasures.
North Korea has moved military aircraft to its east coast and begun boosting defences in the wake of the statement.
Pyongyang also threatened to shoot down American bombers flying near the Korean peninsula “even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country”.
The hostile rhetoric between the two countries has reached new heights as the two leaders have increasingly traded threats and personal insults.
Mr Trump last week dismissed the claim of a declaration of war, but warned if the US was forced to defend itself it would have “no choice but to totally destroy” North Korea, a country of 26 million people.
Mr Trump has repeatedly described Mr Kim as “rocket man”.
In response, Mr Kim issued an unprecedented personal statement in which he pledged to “tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire”.
The Rusi report sets out a number of ways a war could be started.
It says these could include a pre-emptive strike by Pyongyang if it believed the US was planning a surprise attack.
Washington could be provoked into an assault if North Korean test missiles were fired into the ocean near California or Guam, an American territory, it said.
An outbreak of war would be likely to involve an early large-scale US-led air and cyber offensive, the report said.
This scenario would likely provoke retaliation by Pyongyang against South Korea - where around 8,000 Britons live.
American bases in the region would also be a target, and Mr Kim’s regime would probably use conventional, chemical or possibly nuclear weapons.
That would mean a full-scale invasion of North Korea would be highly likely, the report said.
Though Pyongyang is known to have developed its nuclear technology faster than previously thought, even without the use of nuclear weapons, the casualties would likely reach into the hundreds of thousands, the report says.
A war would also have “far-reaching consequences” for the global economy.
Should the US launch a “preventive strike” on North Korea without South Korea's agreement, it would send a signal that Washington was willing to “sacrifice Seoul to protect New York”.
The report calls on the UK government to continue work to intensify international sanctions on North Korea and to support efforts to find a diplomatic solution.
The UK government must also urge the US to rule out preventative strikes and begin preparations for a range of military scenarios, the report says.
However, it adds the UK should not give the US unconditional support should Washington launch a surprise attack on North Korea, and said London must listen to South Korea and Japan.
The report states: “The UK government would have, at most, only a few hours to make clear how it stood on what would be one of the most momentous strategic shocks of the post-Cold War era.

Tiger Woods can walk away with head held extremely high: Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy believes Tiger Woods can walk away from golf with his head "held extremely high" if he is unable to return to competitive action.
Woods has not played since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic at the start of February and is currently recovering from a fourth back operation in the last three years.
And despite giving a positive update on his fitness just five days earlier, Woods acknowledged his career could be over during a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the Presidents Cup, where he is an assistant captain.
"Yes, definitely," the 14-time major winner said when asked if it was a possibility. "I don’t know what the future holds for me
Speaking after an opening 67 in the British Masters, McIlroy said: "Only he knows whether he can do it and he’s taking it very slowly.
"I spent a bit of time with him over the past few months and he’s waiting on his doctors to tell him when he can do things again. He’s going to take their advice and not be maybe quite as stubborn as he was maybe back in the day.
"But look, if he doesn’t play again, he’s been the greatest player that I’ve ever seen. He probably played the greatest golf that anyone in my lifetime has seen. I didn’t really see Jack (Nicklaus) play. Jack has a better record but I don’t know if he played better golf.
"If this is it, he doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone. He can walk away from this game with his head held extremely high and he’s done wonders for this game.
"I don’t think there’s a single figure in golf who did more for the game in terms of bringing different groups of people into the game, different ethnicities, different age groups, made golf cool in the 90s, when it really needed an injection of something.
"So he’s a legend of the game and if this is it, then everyone should just applaud what a great career he’s had.
